Again, let me express our deepest sympathy on the loss of your father. He was a fine man and a "great" uncle.
A memory of him?
It was probably 1942 0r 1943, your dad was home on leave from the army, and staying with us in Whitestone, Queens. I was four or five years old and your dad asked me to come with him to see friends in the Whitestone Village about six blocks away, a long distance for a four or five year old. He walked in his new rapid army pace and I can remember shouting "uncle Mike, wait for me".
Like all of my aunts and uncles, now deceased, he will be missed.
