Brother Julian , in his first year at Our Lady of Lourdes HS in Poughkeepsie, was the mentor who also taught a class in which 9 or 10 of us received our first Ham Radio licenses. I was thinking of Br.Julian recently as I 'celebrated' my 50th year as a ham radio operator, a hobby that I have enjoyed since that December so many years ago. He was a fun person, a great and patient teacher, and I wish I had stayed more in touch with him. I am convinced that he contributed greatly to my career decision to go on and become an electrical engineer, and enjoy more than 40 years in that profession.
