Obituary for William Bowes

William Bowes
William (Bill) Bowes was born in Valhalla, NY on November 05, 1940 to Mattie and William Bowes (predeceased). He was raised in White Plains, NY by his mother and grandmother, Ida until the family moved to the Bronx where he finished his schooling at Taft High School. Shortly after, he met and married Martha Clark. They had 3 children together, Kevin, Karen and Kim. After they divorced, he met and fell in love with Nellie (Chickie) Masdeu. They stayed together for 40 wonderful years until the Lord called him home on February 5, 2013.
In 1975 he became an officer with Triboro Bridge and Tunnel Authority, a job that he loved until his retirement in 1998. Soon after retirement, Bill and Chickie moved to Dania Beach, Florida where they had a wonderful life together. Bill loved working in the garden, finding new DIY projects around the house and watching TV. He was a fun loving man who loved entertaining and playing poker and dominos with his friends. Bill was loved by everyone who knew him. He was kind, loving and understanding never having a harsh word for anyone.
Bill is survived by his wife Nellie, his children, Kevin Smith, Karen Rivers, Kim Shaw, Alicia Bass and Shelly Hudson. His brother and sister-in-law, Alfred and Doris Bowes, his sister, Susie Taylor, his grandchildren Scott, Derrick, Tiffany, Dominique, Shenell, Joaquin, Jaryd, Tiffany and Brianna. His great-grandchildren, Jayden and McKenzie and his sisters and brother in law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
