Obituary for Antoinette Salerno
Antoinette Salerno (nee Milo) passed away on November 1, 2016 at the age of 56 after a brave and fierce battle against cancer. Annie was born June 2, 1960 in the Bronx and was a loving daughter to Carmine and Paula Milo and sister to Peter Milo. She attended Immaculate Conception and Lehman High School.
Annie is survived by her adoring husband Gaetano “Tommy”, to whom she was married for 38 years, her daughter Danielle, son in law Shawn and grandchildren Gaetano and Danny, her nieces Paula Milo and Rosie Milo and children Alex and Aidan and many dear friends and extended family. Annie is predeceased by her parents Carmine and Paula Milo and brother Peter Milo.
Annie’s heart overflowed with love for her family. This love was a tapestry, an intricate twine of faith, encouragement, patience, devotion and cherished memories that hold us all together. She was most happy when surrounded by her family and friends. Annie always welcomed everyone into her home with open arms and an overabundance of the most delicious food. Annie had a unique way of making you feel like she loved you more than anyone or anything else in the world.
Annie also had a particular affection for animals and through sacrifice and dedication, she rescued and saved the lives of countless cats. Her beloved pets provided her tremendous comfort and companionship during her final weeks.
Our family has suffered a tremendous loss. Through our grief, we will remember her love, her selfless devotion to her family, her courage and her beauty since she truly was one of a kind.
Visitation will be Friday, November 4th from 2-4 and 7-9
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, November 5th at 9:30 am at Immaculate Conception Church on Gun Hill Road. Burial to follow at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale.
