Monopoly Wars & More

My cousin Oscar was such a cheerful person. So animated. He helped raise me and my brothers in Brooklyn. We lived downstairs and he upstairs with his mother and Titi Chepo. We would go upstairs often and play monopoly together. Not just regular monopoly, we had our own rules! We'd spend hours playing and having a blast. I remember Oscar's hardy laugh and the way he used to mimic Eddie Kendricks and Melvin Franklin singing from The Temptations. He was also athletic. He and his friend Bobby used to beat everyone in basketball. We called him The Big "O" Everyone on the block knew Oscar. Later on in life, we wound up living near each other in the Bronx. I would stop by and we'd watch the KNICKS or the Yankees together. I'm going to miss my Cuz. But I look forward to seeing Oscar again! May Jehovah God comfort us all.
