Memories

I met the Romagnoli family when I was 14 years old, Maria, 13 then was the new kid on the block in section 5 of Co-op city. Maria and I became fast friends and before you knew it, we spent countless hours at each others apartments hanging out. Liz was a welcoming and warm person whom I immediately loved. She loved to cook and take care of her family and also absolutely loved to dance!

We spent many hours dancing around the living room to spanish music with Liz and she really felt her music.  I remember one day she was playing some African music and proceeding to "sacrifice" us during her dance ritiual!!  She danced over us whith her long, dark beautiful hair flowing in our faces.  It was so much fun and a memory I will hold with me forever.  To this day, when someone asks where did an Irish girl from the Bronx learn to dance like that? My answer is always the same "Lizzie"!!!

Liz was a generous and kind person who always wanted to help. She would shoot from the hip but if you were lucky enough to be loved by her you were in!

I will never forget her caring and generosity toward me when I was going through a tough time in my life.  I would often come down to the Bronx from where I live in Orange County and spend the day with her.  She always lifted my spirits and promised better times were yet to come.  One Christimas when things were bad, I received a fedex envelope at my job from Liz. Enclosed was cash and a note from Maria stating is was from Liz and I should use it to get something for my boys, Mark would have wanted me to.

Liz's strength and sense of humor will be missed. But more than that her sense of family and love.  She was an amazing woman with incredible strength.  She will be missed forever but her memory will live on in her beautiful and loving family.  Patty
