It's 1967 and I am a Senior at St. Agnes High School and I had the pleasure of having Brother Edward for English class. Normally, English classes were not my favorite but Brother Edward made the class a joy to attend. He gave us great books to read by having us read a few chapters each day and then giving us a quiz on them which made it easier to read a book instead of telling us to read the whole book. He also introduced us to the 1,000 vocabulary cards that he broke down by 10 cards a night, quiz the next day, another quiz after 100 cards then a vocabulary bee which helped to build up my vocabulary.
Brother Edward was soft spoken and. had a great wit. The one time I heard him yell because the class got a little too noisy, I almost jumped out of my seat because I had never heard him raise his voice!
May God Bless You Brother Edward for beiing a great teacher and a wonderful person who I will never forget!
