Thomas Joseph  Preziose
Colonel Thomas Joseph Preziose Sr. (Ret) P.E., born April 10th, 1924 died on Saturday, March 3, 2018, in the Bronx where he lived all his life, the last 63 years in Throggs Neck.
He survived his wife Cora married in 1947, his son Thomas and his parents, Joseph and Mary Preziose. During their 58 years together, they had 6 children: Thomas Jr., deceased, Robert, Cecilia, Marlene Basker, married to Gregory Basker, deceased, Moira Wade married to Steven Wade, and Mark. He is also survived by his 7 grand children: Vivian married to Kevin Le, Robert Jr. married to Stephanie, Jonathan, Thomas, Nicole, Daniel, and Jennifer Basker. His great grand children are Mitchell, Austin, and Jaslyn.
His careers started in the Civilian Conservation Corp from 1940-1941 and the US Navy aboard the USS Charlotte in WWII Normandy and the European-African Campaign. After WWII, he worked with the City of New York Water Department from1945-1987 as a resident Civil Engineer. One project designing and inspecting the construction of the water supply to the World Trade Center. He graduated The City College School of Engineering (Civil) February 1978 after 12 years of night school. He continued his education into his 80s taking courses in a variety of subjects. He also was an adjunct professor and taught forensic engineering.
After retiring, he was employed with the Federal Government for the General Services Administration as a Professional Engineer in charge of the Federal Buildings in the Northeast.
His other services were NYS Guard 1981-2002, US Coast Guard Auxiliary 1998-2012, Mason 2009-2017, Knights Templar 2007-2018, Greenburg PD Lieutenant Constable 1984-1997, Mamaroneck PD Auxiliary Police Officer 1998-2007. He had many interests and some were the Civil War, antique cars, patriotism, history, philanthropy, and a devout and faithful Roman Catholic with St. Frances De Chantal Church but above all, his family.
