Condolence: More than a mentor, more than a model, more than a teacher, Pete also was a friend, a loving family man, and an outstanding good agent, whether undercover or as a boss! Whatever DEA is today and whatever it may become tomorrow, its success in large part will be owed to folks like Pete Scrocca. My condolences to his loving wife Teresa and the boys who meant so very much to Pete and were always and everywhere the wind behind his sail. May he rest in peace.

Condolence: I have many fond memories of Pete and working for him. I was pleased with his advice and truly respected Pete as one DEA's legend. To have worked and have know him was special. I will also have Pete in my memories since I convinced him to sell me one of his famous guns and it remains in my collection.
My prayers are with his family and wish them stength for their lost. Rest in Peace you served your family and country well.

Condolence: Thinking Back

Good Morning:

First, to the Scrocca Family, please accept my condolences.

Next, I never got to work with Pete. My only encounter with Pete and his two partners was when they gave a talk to our BNDD Class 11 (Sept. - Dec. 1970) at 14th & Eye Sts, Wash. DC. I was only 22 out of Los Angeles. As the trio told their stories about their adventures on the streets of New York City, my eyes got bigger and bigger as I listened to each, single word in awe. Pete was like out of a movie; exciting stuff and I was thrilled to have signed up to be with guys like him . Pete and his two partners were referred to as the "Nairobi Trio." I raised my hand to ask why the nickname; they smiled and divulged that it was the name of an establishment where they were known to imbibe.

Condolence: To my leader, mentor and most important, my friend, Beyond the deafening and bellowing roar of the lion, there lie an intelligent laughing spirit which made you a legend in our universe. Your anchor was your Theresa when you needed calmness and your sons, Peter Jr. and Michael, were your sails taking you from adventure to adventure.
Good Bye my courageous friend!
