Atlantic City

The last time I saw Sal was on a trip a group of us organized to meet in Atlantic City. Knowing his penchant for visiting casinos, the first day of our weekend found all of us in high spirits (Tommy, Ron, Richy, Albert, myself) and Sal, as usual, had great stories to tell. Overnight his brother in law, along for the trip,  took ill and Sal drove him back to the Bronx for treatment . It's the kind of guy he was, taking care of others and seeing to their needs. Despite his own health issues, Sal didn't hesitate and I know it was hard for him to bid us an early goodbye. I so wish we had all been able to continue on and reach a better closure to our time together. Sal, you knew what 'family" meant, and you put family first. We'll all miss you, always.
