Obituary for Benjamin Diaz
Benjamin Diaz, 65 , beloved husband to an amazing wife, Mary, the love of his life for 35 years, a loving son, an unselfish brother, the father of two crazy kids, took his last breath on Saturday, October 31st surrounded by the loving arms of his family. His kindness was infectious and his grace was beyond compare. We know Heaven gained one stud of an Angel.
Though the outcome was not what we wanted, not what we prayed for, Benjamin's fight was every bit as valiant and meaningful. Like many we remain in awe of how he stared cancer smack-dab in the face, determined to beat the disease and help others once he got better. Every day he fought for his family... before and after he became ill.
Benjamin's unshakable courage was inspirational. Cancer, Parkinson's disease...never defined him; it's not his life story. The late, great, ESPN anchor, Stuart Scott once said, "when you're too tired to fight, rest and let someone else fight for you."
Benjamin, you can rest now, and we will continue to fight for you.
