Aunt Irene, I have never been a very spiritual person but you have made me a believer. The night of your passing I awoke in the middle of the night to all three of my smoke detectors beeping. It seemed so odd to me that the batteries of all three would need to changed all at once. So for the sake of sleep, I unplugged them all, determined to deal with them in the morning. Upon hearing that your spirit left the human world I thought nothing of those smoke detectors. Then something crazy happened. I plugged one of those smoke detectors back in without changing the batteries and guess what? Not a sound was made and has yet to be made since your passing. So that night I now believe that you came to say goodbye to me. I want you to know that I love you and you will never be forgotten. My childhood is full of amazing memories of hanging out having barbecues and watching fireworks at your house. May you find your way to heaven Aunt Irene and we can watch those fireworks together again.
