4th Of July 1976

A memory that stands out in my mind the most took place on the 4th of July 1976 in front of her house. Con Ed ripped up the street and piled the black top in front of her house. Naturally My Brother Michael and I had to climb to the top of the black top pile. Sure enough Michael feel and cracked his knee wide open. Run inside to Grandma Pizza to save him. I never had seen nor still to this day had seen anyone repair a gash like that with out stiches. There may be some black top pebbles still in Michael's knee but she got that bleeding to stop with a wet rag.

She was always generous and thoughtful.She would hand me $5 and say, "Go Buya some I-sha Cream"

When I would leave she would say "No Runna With The Car"

If I was with  Jen  "No Maka Mush"

I regret not finding time to learning how to speak Italian, or how to make her meatballs,pasta or sauce.

It was the BEST!!!
