Gloria Tocci passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2018. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 from 2-5 & 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 9:45 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery.

I rarely say that a friend's mother is my friend as well, but this is how I feel about Gloria. She was an optimist despite enduring tragedy in her family with losing her husband and then son. She "gave it up to God" - telling me on occasion that there is a book with a date of your birth and also a date of your death, and there's nothing you can do about it. She had a pragmatic way of looking at a problem -- I often confided in her in our "print shop days" as she always had wonderful advice. She was patient, caring, and had a great sense of humor. She loved her family deeply and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Gloria, you will be missed.

I am very sorry to hear about Gloria's passing. She was a very big part of my childhood during the Crotona Avenue days. I will always remember the summer nights when the ladies would come down with their folding chairs and go across the street to sit in front of Dodge High School.
