On Saturday January 21st 2023, Teresa Lisanti, 79, beloved wife and mother of three, peacefully passed away surrounded by her family. Teresa was born on September 4th 1943 in Naples, Italy in the suburb of Fuorigrotta. She was the youngest child of Carmine and Lidia Spina and was a beloved sister of Carmela, Lucia, and Mario.
At 19 years old, Teresa immigrated to New York on the SS Vulcania. On November 22nd 1962, she met her husband, Salvatore, at an Italian-American dance, held at the Manhattan Center. They fell in love and were married eleven months later on October 12th 1963. Together they have three children, Anthony (m. Sonia), Rosemarie (m. Dennis) and Mario, and five grandchildren, Salvatore (m. Mandy), Anna, Sebastian (m. Lexie), Alexandra (e. Sam), and Cristian, and one great grandson, Anthony.
Teresa loved and cared for her family tremendously. She loved to cook and she has left many delicious recipes for her family to enjoy. She was an excellent seamstress by trade and spent the better half of her working years by her husband’s and her son Anthony’s side at their family pizzeria. She enjoyed playing cards and taking spontaneous trips to Atlantic City and Mohegan Sun. The beach was her happy place because it reminded her of her childhood in Naples. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
She was an amazing woman who touched everyone’s heart. She will be greatly missed.
