Obituary for Sylvester "Sal" Malangone

Sylvester (Sal) Malangone, Jr., passed away at home Saturday, May 25, 2019. Sal leaves his wife of 63 years, Dolores, his children, Josephine, Sal, Dolores and Sylvia, 8 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren, as well as his Siblings, Ann and John and many nieces and nephews.
Sal was born and raised in New York City (Harlem), the son of Josephine Panarese and Sal Malangone, Sr. He worked for the New York City Department of Parks for 32 years. Was an officer on the Palisades Park Police and was everyone’s favorite bus driver for many years.
He met his beautiful wife, Dolores, in Long Branch, New Jersey, at the age of 17... she was 16. They have been together ever since. Sal married Dolores on April 22, 1956, and they started their family immediately.
Sal loved life, and was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to many. He was always ready to help anyone who had a project that needed to be tackled. He was creative and loved tinkering in his garage on his workbench, whether to build a deck or paint a delicate statute, he always did the job to perfection.
The world was certainly a better place with him in it, and he will be sorely missed by anyone who had the good fortune to know him.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 from 2-5 & 7-9 PM and Thursday, May 30, 2019 from 2-5 & 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 31, 2019 at 10:30 AM at Saint Benedict's Church. Entombment will be follow at Saint Raymond's Cemetery.
