Obituary for Salvatore Amoroso

Salvatore “Sal” Amoroso, (77), of the Bronx, New York, passed away on May 19, 2023.
Sal was born on August 31, 1945, in Amantea located in the Cosenza province of Calabria, Italy. He was a talented carpenter who took great pride in his work on buildings throughout New York City. He is survived by his beloved wife Linda of 53 years, and two children, Marie Angiuli and her spouse Frank, and Rocco Amoroso and his spouse Julia. Aside from soccer and fishing, his greatest passion in life was his four grandchildren: Rocky, Andrew, Veronica, and Anthony. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Vinny, and his family in Italy including his brother Rocco, his sisters Lucia and Maria, as well as many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his parents Giuseppe and Carmela Amoroso, his brothers Francesco and Silvestro, and his sister Teresa.
Salvatore’s family will hold a funeral service on Friday, May 26, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Theresa’s Church, Bronx, NY. His family in Italy held a funeral mass on Wednesday, May 24, 2023.
To Sal/Dad/Nonno:
As you know, our family last name of “Amoroso” means “loving” in Italian; we will carry forward with love in our hearts as it is part of our DNA. Tutti noi ti volgiamo tanto bene. Ci mancherai molto. (We all love you so much. You will be greatly missed.)
