Robert Dreyer, 89, passed away on August 12, 2022, at The New Jewish Home – Sarah Neuman in Mamaroneck, NY. He was born on December 15, 1932, in Manhattan, the son of Joseph and Germaine Dreyer and stepson of Peter Frank Russo.
After high school Bob served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in South Korea during the Korean Conflict. Upon his honorable discharge and return to the States, he was proud and honored to join the New York City Police Department at the age of 25, and he served faithfully for over 20 years. The stories he shared with family and friends about his time in service were legendary, and he loved his fellow Officers and the people of New York City that he helped to protect. Bob was a Life Member of the VFW Post 2116 in the Bronx.
Robert loved the Rat Pack and the music of the 50’s. He was a huge fan of the classic movies of the 40’s and 50’s and a true fan of John Wayne.
He is survived by his sister Louise Dreyer Fried of New Hyde Park, NY, his niece Denise Walsh of Fairfield CT, his nephew John Fried of Dallas TX, and his grand-nieces and nephew Mallory, Leah and Logan Walsh.
