Obituary for Nettie Lucille Floyd

Nettie Lucille Floyd led a life of giving and caring for others. She began a successful nursing career in Syracuse, NY over 50 years ago, and has been caring for others ever since. After retiring in 2009, she relocated to the Bronx, NY and began volunteering at local facilities, such as the Bronx House and Calvary Hospital, as a way to give back to her community.
Known for her larger-than-life smile, cheerful attitude, and spunky personality, Nettie often left a positive impression on everyone she met. She had a passion for staying active, eating healthy, relaxing on the beach, and could be seen taking long, swift walks in her neighborhood on a daily basis.
Nettie has lived a fulfilling life and is survived by her four children – Anthony, Yolanda, Marcus, and Kenric along with eight grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. Now, her caring and fun-loving spirit lives on through her family. And, like she always said “God is love”.
