Lisa Gaye Julius was born July 1, 1958 named after actress Lisa Gaye to Mary and Gosnell Julius and had three sibling Francina, Richard and Amelia who proceeded her in death.

Lisa attended P.S. 71, JHS 101 and Lehman High School. From there Lisa attended New Rochelle State College, York College and finally Fordham University where she earned her Masters Degree in Social Work.

In 1986 while working at Covenant House she met and fell in love with Manuel Smith.

From this union her son Manuel Aaron Julius Smith was born, the brightest star in her life.

On June 16, 2016 another star was added to her life, her first and only grandson Carter Julius Smith. Who fondly called her Gammie.

Lisa was recognized as an exquisite decorator for any occasion, her table settings were no match to any ever seen. Sewing was another art she mastered and her passion for baking cakes made to order was beyond compare.

Lisa touched many lives with her kindness and giving heart.

Her immediate family had nicknames for her:

Mother called her- Lisa Teets

Sister called her- Pookie

Brother called her – Pru (short for Pruney)

Nieces called her- (Aunt Lisa)

She was everyone’s Aunt Lisa.

But most importantly she was MOM!

She was recently honored by her colleagues at Administration of Children’s Services for her work ethic and achievements.

Lisa loved music the Four Tops, Earth Wind and Fire, Tina Turner and Michael Jackson.

Lisa was a friend to lots of people. She was the most caring, best listening, greatest advice giving friend a person could have. She just had that magnetism and infectious smile when she laughed she lit up the room. And could give you travel directions anywhere in the city.

So, Lisa Gaye we send you off with all the love we have, knowing you are not gone but in all of our hearts.
