Josephine “Joy” Magliano, 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 21, 2019. She was born in Brooklyn, New York to Giovanni and Gennarina Scancarella. She married her husband William at age 19 and resided in the Bronx where they raised a family. Joy is preceded in death by her husband Bill and her five siblings (brothers Salvatore and Gennaro; sisters Angelina, Antoinette and Concetta).



She leaves behind a loving family: her son Albert Magliano; son William Magliano and daughter-in-law Suzanne; daughter Jeanine and son-in law Paul Roland. She was blessed with four beautiful grandchildren: Paul Jr., Ariana Joy, William Anthony (“Billy”) and Amanda Jennie (“Mandy”). Joy cared for children in her home for 25 years for working parents where she treated and loved them as her own. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing and taking pride in her home. What brought her the most “joy” was taking care of and loving her family and friends.



Visitation will be held on Monday, September 23, 2019 from 7:00 - 9:00 PM & Tuesday, September 24, 2019 from 2:00 - 5:00 & 7:00 - 9:00 PM. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Interment to follow at St. Raymond's Cemetery.
