Obituary for Jose A. Torres

Jose A Torres, caring father, great brother, and loving husband passed suddenly and unexpectedly on Saturday April 3, 2021.

Son of Hector and Margarita Torres; He is survived by his wife Maria Luisa, four children Chan'nel, Anthony, Luisito and Genesis as well as siblings Julian, Marilyn, Hector, Rosa, Ena and Raul.

Born in Aibonito, Puerto Rico, Jose was raised and educated in Bronx, NY.

In 1985 he enlisted and joined two of his brothers in the US Army, where all three of them were stationed simultaneously in Germany and enjoyed the Oktoberfests together.

Jose was quick witted and extremely funny. One of the kindest and most caring persons we all know, and we felt all that love and genuineness always emanating from his soul and heart.

The kind of person that would literally give you the shirt off his back, and often did. I remember him as fastidious in his ways always ensuring attention to detail and that things were done correctly. Always the first one at work.

He enjoyed several hobbies including handball and softball. He was a very powerful lefty that usually batted cleanup in our pick-up games at Babe Ruth Field in the Bronx. Jose also enjoyed bowling and played in a league with several family members.

A devout Christian, who frequented church with his family, he is already sorely missed and will always live in all our hearts.
