Obituary for Hilda Rodriguez Ruiz

Hilda Rodriguez Ruiz was born on September 12, 1931 in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico to Jose Rodriguez and Nemencia Aponte Rodriguez. Hilda was a very hard working woman, whom at a very early age became a caregiver to her siblings, while her parents worked. In 1951 the family relocated to New York, she was employed for 20 years in the custom jewelry industry where she often made jewelry for soap opera stars.

After her retirement she enjoyed being with family and going to Latin concerts & vacations with her husband & family. She loved to dance, but her specialty was cooking, people loved coming over to her home for her wonderful dishes (unfortunately I didn't inherit her cooking genes, lol). She was a beautiful woman & everyone who knew her loved her, even people who didn't know her found themselves gravitating towards her.

Hilda was predeceased by her loving husband Ramon Ruiz (whom I'm sure is waiting for her with open arms), her parents Jose & Nemencia Rodriguez, her 2 sisters Cenia & Senovia, and her brother Peter.

She leaves behind a loving family who will miss her greatly. She is survived by her 3 daughters Margie Rodriguez , Miriam Santana, Lillian & her husband Louis Robles. 3 sisters Analydia & her husband Santiago, Lin Pinero, Anita & her husband Jose Fajardo. Her 4 brothers Leo Rodriguez, Angel & his wife Norma Rodriguez, Jose & his wife Milagro Rodriguez , & Ishmeal Rodriguez. Hilda was the very proud Grandmother to 9, Annette, Joey , Shari, Shana, Tracy, Louie, Bernie Jr. , Robert & David. Hilda has 14 great grandchildren & 2 great great grandchildren. Hilda is also survived by many nieces & nephews.
