Obituary for Harriet C. Green

Harriet Carolyn Green was born on March 13, 1939 in New York City to Anita and Edgar Green Sr. She received her wings for eternal peace on July 25, 2022.

Harriet attended local schools in Harlem. She worked for many years at the United States Postal Service sorting mail on the evening shift, until her health forced an early disability retirement.

As a young adult Harriet lived a life of fun. Whenever and wherever the party was, she was there. She truly enjoyed good music and a good party.

Harriet enjoyed her family immensely. She had genuine interest in everyone’s life. Keeping up daily with family, and hearing all about her children, grands, siblings, nieces and nephews gave her great joy. She readily offered words of wisdom and always a few laughs.

Harriet enjoyed knitting and was an avid reader of mystery and spy books. She followed the cooking channels and enjoyed duplicating some of the dishes.

Harriet is preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Anita Green, sons Mark Green, Michael Jones, sisters Anita Graham and Iris Green, brother Edgar Green Jr.

The profound loss of her life is felt by her daughter Samara Bradley(Edward), son Darrell Warren, brothers Daniel Green (MaryEllen) and Stephen Green. Grand children Tanyika Travis(Tracy), Alger Johnson Jr, Sean Bradley, Corey Warren, Darrell Warren Jr and Shanita Warren. Great grandchildren, Tracy and Tyler Travis, London and Alger Jacob Johnson. Nieces: Valerie, Pamela(Devon), Sylvia, Renee (Devon), Nikema, and Danielle (David), Shilon. Nephews: Spencer, Gary, Ryan (Maria), Orlando (Krysten), Stephen Jr, Christen, a host of grand nieces and nephews, and her dear childhood friend Essie Carrington.

Thank you to our family and friends for all prayers, words of comfort and assistance. May the Lord bless you and keep you. With much appreciation, the family of Harriet C. Green.
