Obituary for Frank E. Sclafani

Francis Edward Sclafani Sr (Frank) age 72, from the Bronx, New York, passed away Wednesday morning, July 6 th , 2022 at Flushing Hospital in Queens. Frank attended St Frances de Chantal School up to 8 th grad and graduated in 1963 and then graduated from Columbus High School in the Bronx in 1967. Frank worked for a branch of the New York Transit Authority – MABSTOA (Manhattan and Bronx Surface Transit Operating Authority) for over 34 years in New York as a bus driver and then a Surface Line Dispatcher with his post being at West 231 st street in the Bronx. He was well known as the “Mayor of 231st Street”! Frank was a member of The Emerald Society for many years and did serve as vice president for them as well.
Frank had many friends, good times and gatherings at the Punch Bowl on Broadway in the Bronx. Frank loved to collect coins and stamps, smoke cigars and spend time with his brothers, sister and their families and with his children, grand-children and great grand-children. Frank is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Joyce Sclafani. He is survived by his children Ilene (Gaspare Barone); Frank Jr (Victoria); Joseph (Olivia); and Lori Sclafani. His grand-children John and Jessica Armet; Francesco Barone; Ava, Samantha and Maria Sclafani; Madalynn and Alana Sclafani; and Gianna Ferrante. Great grand-children Blake Armet; Valerie and Isabella Seberig. Sister Pat Sclafani (Tony Cuomo) and brothers Joe (Linda) Sclafani and Anthony (Adele) Sclafani. He has many, many wonderful nieces and nephews that he loved dearly. He is also survived by longtime friend Susan Busch.
Visitation services are being held on Sunday July 10 th , 2022 from 2-6pm at Sisto Funeral Home, 3489 East Tremont Ave, Bronx NY 10465. Massservice will be 10 am on Monday July 11 th , 2022 at St. Frances de Chantal Church 190 Hollywood Ave, Bronx, NY. Burial/Interment following will be at St Raymond’s Cemetery 2600 Lafayette Ave, Bronx,
NY 10465.
