Obituary for Fabian T. D'Oyley

Fabian T. D’Oyley was born on July 7, 1930 on the island of Jamaica to Arthur and Beatrice D’Oyley the third child born to the couple but first son. He was born in the small rural community of Whitby in the Parrish of Manchester. (Daddy) always reflected on his childhood fondly as any kid would, especially when most of the neighbors were not only neighbors but cousins. aunts, uncles and friends. He fondly spoke about his childhood memories and boyish antics. Busta as he was affectionately known by everyone he loved his time (in the country) as he often said. He moved to Jamaica’s capital of Kingston following the death of his mother in 1952. Busta visited his childhood home often never forgetting his family and friends that he left in the country. In Kingston He worked mostly as a salesman selling new products that can on the market. During his time in Kingston Busta loved his job and the added bonus of talking to and learning from people. He married Pearl Griffiths from Harrywatch, Manchester his first wife December 4,1962 after a long courtship. He and Pearl enjoyed their time in Kingston along with their growing family . He migrated first to the United States in 1967 in search of the American dream he settled in the borough of the Bronx where many of his friends and relatives also settled,all the while awaiting the arrival of his beloved wife and children. July 1970. Pearl his wife and the 5 children joined him in the Bronx the family lived in a small apartment at 1678 Nelson ave for 6 years until he and Pearl purchased a home at 3318 Paulding Avenue in the northeast section of the Bronx. Both he and Pearl had the privilege of home ownership something they both worked hard to achieve. Tragedy struck the family when his beloved wife and mother Pearl passed away on January 14,1978. Busta continued to work to maintain the home he and Pearl shared and care for his family. Finally retiring from work after 30years in 1997 from a local nursing home. He enjoyed reminiscing on days gone by, his many travels, simple bird watching, often awe struck by the natural beauty of our God given earthly home along with horsing racing, baseball, bowling, watching cricket on television often thinking of the time he played the sport with fondness, he enjoyed playing the lottery with the hopes of winning big some day and many other activities to numerous to mention. Busta had many experiences in his life,but he always remembered that he was a simple man from humble beginnings. In April 2007 Busta married Maureen Hamlor they both enjoyed 13 years of marriage and have wonderful memories together spanning many decades prior to their marriage they both had many common interest most important to both of them was family and making sure that they next generation knew of the rich family history. Maureen says of their life together she has “no regrets." Until his death she remained a devoted wife and confidant, a partner, and friend . After a short illness Busta fell asleep in death December 18,2020. He is survived by his devoted wife Maureen, his younger brother Johnny and sisters Nancy and Dawn, his sons Glenn,Horace Bradley, Carl, Mikey and his daughters Elaine,Loma, Rhoda and Lema, his stepchildren Huebert ,Ricky, Rhonda,Phil and Denise countless grand and great grandchildren nieces nephews, cousins,friends and relatives. He will be surely missed. My he Rest In Peace until the glorious resurrection of the dead promised by our Heavenly Father is fulfilled..
