While living in Kingston, Eula worked various jobs but mainly as a cashier at a Supermarket. After living in Kingston for several years, she migrated to the US in the late 70’s, where she lived with her sister Beatrice and family in New Jersey. There she worked various jobs as a housekeeper in private homes and later working for the well known Actor’s Fund Home.

While still working in New Jersey, Eula moved to the Bronx, New York in 1981. She retired several years later from the Actor’s Fund Home. During her residency in the US, Eula would make several trips back to Jamaica to visit her family.

Eula was well recognized for her DELICIOUS home cooked meals. She especially loved making sorrel and cakes during the holiday season and distributing them to various family members. She was a loving person who enjoyed spending time with her family and watching her favorite TV shows, such as Colombo, Wheel of Fortune & Jeopardy. She also enjoyed eating out at Red Lobster on occasion.

Eula is survived by 1 sister, Violet Powell; 8 children: Glen Walker, Dassie Walker, Barbara Johnson, Winston Johnson, Morris Cordewell, Sonia DaCosta, Tommy DaCosta and Sean DaCosta; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephew. She will be laid to rest close to her older sister, Leticia Powell, at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, New York.
