Emma Sokolich passed away peacefully on January 10, 2021 at the age of 100. Emma married the love of her life, Anthony in 1946 and remained together in their Throggs Neck home until his death in 1998. Emma was the beloved sister of Mario (Fides) Marussich of Toms River, New Jersey, James Marussich of Denver, Colorado and the late Andrew (the late Gloria) Marussich. She was the cherished “Aunt Emma” to the late Mary Ann Martin, Edward Marussich, Andrew Marussich, Irene Keller, Robert Marussich, Lorraine Grimaldi, James Marussich, Mark Marussich, Wendy Marussich, Anthony Lechich, Robert Lechich, Dorothy Petersen, and Marion Ryan. Emma also leaves behind many loving grandnieces and grandnephews. Emma also leaves behind her special caregivers, her aide Mary and her neighbor David who greatly assisted in keeping her home during her last years. Emma was a lifelong parishioner of Saint Benedict’s Church and a devoted member of the North East Bronx Senior Citizen Center.
