Edward Bird, 81 of Bronx, New York passed away on April 7th, 2021. Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, he lived in the Bronx, NY since 1951.
In addition to being a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Edward was an avid baseball player and a lifelong New York Yankees fan. He also loved to sing and share many jokes with family and friends.
Edward is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Virginia Bird, and his children. Edward and his wife Carmen, and Lynda and her husband Fernando. Edward was also a cherished grandfather to Tiffany (Andrew), Desiree, Daniel, Christian, Abigail, and James. A great grandfather to Isabella, Nico, Enzo, Richie, and Elise.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 pm – 6 pm at the Sisto Funeral Home. 3489 E Tremont Ave. Bronx, NY 10465 (sistifh.com). Funeral Mass is Monday, April 12th at 9: 30 AM at St. Benedict Roman Catholic Church at 2969 Otis Ave. Bronx, NY 10465.
Interment will follow at St. Raymond’s cemetery in Bronx, NY.
