Catherine "Cathi" Odell Goins passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2018.
Cathi Odell Goins was born to Eugene and Odell Hayes on February 26, 1944 in Harlem, New York. She was the youngest daughter and fourth and last child.
Cathi married Edward Joseph Goins on September 10, 1966 and was married for over 50 years until God called him home in 2017. They had one Child, a daughter, Tanya Catherine Goins born September 9, 1972. They lived in Co-op City, New York since their section opened in 1970.
Cathi grew up on the Lower East Side of NYC. Cathi was a SP (Special Progress) Student and was never in the 8th grade. She graduated from Seward Park High School at the age of 16. She was employed at Equitable Life Insurance Company, Salomon Bros.
under various titles and Retired from the City University of New York (John Jay College of Criminal Justice) as an Office Assistant to the Chairman of the Forensic Science Department.
She leaves to mourn her daughter, Tanya Goins and other Family and Friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward "Joe" Goins; her mother, Odell Hayes; father, Eugene Hayes; sister, Doris “Mimi” Hayes Boschulte; two brothers Eugene “Jay” and Harold “Ski” Hayes.
