Carmen Maduro-Arroyo, 84 of Bronx, New York, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 28, 2020. She was born on April 18, 1936 in Fajardo, Puerto Rico to parents Martin Maduro and Ramona Cintron. Carmen had one sister Rosita Maduro. As teenagers, she and her sister moved to New York City.
Carmen was a wonderful, loving mother and is survived by her five children, Victor Perez, Maritza Perez, Carmen Perez, Evelyn Perez-Rodriguez, and Johnny Perez, 16 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Carmen was a parishioner of St. Lucy's Roman Catholic Church. Her belief and love for God sustained her and gave her the strength to overcome many life challenges. Carmen taught her children good morals and values. She deeply loved her children and each relationship was unique and precious to her. Each night, she prayed for her children and extended family.
Carmen was witty, funny, generous, strong-willed, friendly, nurturing and loving. Carmen always dressed beautifully and wherever she went, she had the sweetest smile. Many were attracted to her pleasant demeanor and friendly personality. Making friends was second nature to her.
Carmen enjoyed dancing, singing and listening to her favorite old songs. She especially adored cooking meals for her family, fellowship and joking with her children. All gatherings, whether for special occasions or holidays, were never complete without cake and flowers and most especially her laughter! She also appreciated knitting, arts and crafts.
Carmen's children and extended family will miss her laugh, jokes, and words of wisdom; but most of all her hugs and kisses. We know she is in heaven with our Creator and will intercede and protect our family for all eternity.
Rest in Peace, Mami.
