Obituary for Carlos J. Calderon

Carlos J. Calderon, age 49 of Ogdensburg, NY passed away on January 19, 2022, at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. There will be a Memorial Service on Thursday March 10, 2022 from 4pm-8pm at Sisto Funeral Home in the Bronx.
Carlos was born on May 30, 1972, to Margarita (Hornedo) Calderon and Javier Calderon in New York City and graduated from Robert E. Fitch High School in 1992 in Groton, CT.
Carlos met Jocelyn Harvey in 1991 in Groton, CT. and went on to have 2 children, Brianna Kowaleski (Daniel) and Elijah Calderon.
Carlos met Elizabeth Fraiter in 1995 in Groton, CT. and went to have 3 children, Selena Calderon, Cristian Calderon and Jasmeen Calderon.
Carlos met Dawn Hall in 2009 in Ogdensburg, NY and raised 4 children, Megan Barber, Courtney Barber, Fern Barber and Paige Barber.
In 2011, Carlos retired from the United States Army and spent his time serving the community and his family.
Carlos is survived by his children; Brianna Kowaleski (Daniel), Elijah Calderon, Selena Calderon, Cristian Calderon, Jasmeen Calderon, Megan Barber, Courtney Barber, Fern Barber & Paige Barber; his grandchildren; Jasilyn “Ya-Ya” Perez, Elena Kowaleski, Kayden Barber, Kinleigh Gemmill, Kyler Gemmill, Karson Barber, Kaylen Dority, Kohen Dority and Phoenix Burke; his fiancée’ Dawn Hall; his parents Margarita Beltran and Javier Calderon; and his siblings; Marisol Melendez, Erickson Rodriguez, Jessica Calderon, Rosa Calderon, Estefania Calderon, Xavier Calderon, Jazlin Calderon, Carlos Calderon, Migdalia Calderon, Milagros Vasquez, Javier Calderon and Gilberto Calderon.
Carlos was a volunteer Firefighter in Yantic, CT, operated his own Car Detailing Business, was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons and a member of the Brotherhood of the Undaunted Few Motorcycle Club. He enjoyed cooking, drawing, listening to music and riding his motorcycle.
