Obituary for Andrew P. Stratos
Andrew P. Stratos, long-time resident of Throggs Neck, NY, passed away on February 8, 2021. He is predeceased by his parents Peter and Mary and his brother Stratos (Butch) and sister Christine.
His great joy was his family: his wife of fifty years, Rose, his children, Eric, Stefanie, Andrew Jr; his grandchildren Jennifer Rose, Bo Andrew and Stephen Andrew; his oldest brother Louis Stratos; countless cousins and relatives who adored and looked up to him. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren and enjoyed having everyone around the table for dinner.
Andy, Dad, Pops, Grandpa, Uncle Bo - grew up in Washington Heights and as a young man worked in the family restaurant. He joined the NYPD in 1968 and began an almost-four-decade long distinguished career. He met Rose shortly after starting with the NYPD and married in 1970. He believed in honest, hard work, and earned a reputation in the department for integrity and sound judgment. He was one of those rare people who really loved his job, finally retiring in 2004 at the rank of Lieutenant Commander.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 11, from 2:00 - 6:00 at the Sisto Funeral Home, 3489 East Tremont Avenue, Bronx NY
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 12 at Sisto Funeral Home at 10:00am before proceeding to St. Raymond's Cemetery, 2600 Lafayette Avenue, Bronx NY
