Obituary for Ana I. Travieso

On Friday, January 6 2023, Ana Irma Travieso gained her angel wings. Her final days was spent surrounded by her loving family.

Ana was born on November 1, 1943 to Antonia Perez and Ramon Lozada in Gurabo, Puerto Rico. Ana graduated Gurabo High School and later moved to New York where she met the love of her life, Jose Luis Travieso. They married on October 10, 1964. Together they had three beautiful children Joseph, Eddie, and Liza. Ana then obtained her degree in Counseling/Drug Rehabilitation at City College of New York.

Ana became a Drug and Alcohol Senior Counselor at Resurrection Rehabilitation Center in the Bronx, NY. She worked there for over 20 years. She later retired and devoted her life to being an exceptional grandmother, playing an intricate part in the lives of each of her grandchildren.

Ana was a devoted matriarch. She lived for her family. She loved cooking for everyone who came to visit. She also enjoyed spending time with her fur babies Sonny, Jasper, and Joey.

She was good at everything. She made her house a home in so many ways. Spring was her favorite season in which she would spend the most time planting beautiful flowers and decor.

In Ana’s lifetime she touched so many lives with her beautiful heart. She was tiny but mighty in many ways. She would give tough love but always end it with a hug and “I you more”

Ana was predeceased by her father Ramon Lozada her brother Ildefonso Lozada, husband Jose Luis Travieso, her eldest son Joseph Travieso, and her grandson Joseph Michael Travieso.

Ana is survived by her mother Antonia Perez, sisters Sylvia Lozada-Vega, Sonia Lozada, brothers Juan Lozada, Juan Rafael Candelaria, and Manuel Diaz. Daughter Liza Travieso, Son Eddie Travieso, Son- in Law- Benito Diaz. Grandchildren- Christopher Joseph Travieso, Crystal Joanna Diaz, Kobe Jay Travieso, Eddie Justin Travieso, Nicholas Ben Diaz, and Joell Travieso, Great Grandchildren- Caysee Monroe Travieso and Joseph Michael Travieso Jr., along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know her.
