Obituary for Albert R Edwards

Albert Roy Edwards, more affectionately known as Birdie, was born on July 19, 1950, in Harlem, New York to Wilfred and Ann Edwards. After completing James Monroe High School, Al attended RCA Trade School. In 1974, he married his wife Patricia, and shared three sons Ryan, Michael, and Jason. Al was the second of four children and the oldest son. Al went on to join the workforce where he found success at the Long Island Railroad as a Foreman for 35 years.

Al had a reputation of being friendly, outgoing, and a social butterfly. Al was always determined to be the best at whatever he did. Al loved a challenged and being put to the test. Al appreciated the simple pleasures in life. He enjoyed spending time with family and close friends, as well as a wide range of hobbies that included watching classic western movies and playing pool.

Al closed his eyes and slipped away early morning on Saturday October 15, 2022, at the age of 72. Al is preceded in death by his parents, and older sister. Al leaves to mourn and cherish his memory his wife Patricia, his 3 sons: Ryan Sr. & wife Lucrece, Michael, and Jason; 3 grandchildren: Ryan Jr., Maegan, and Aaron; sister Linda; brother Wayne; & sister-in-law Lueida; life partner Rosa Rojas; 7 nieces and nephews: Keith, Wanda, Joseph, Rodney, Nashiema, Ahrieff, and Denise; many grand nieces and nephews, extended family, best friend: Bobby Smith and many friends.
