Obituary for Robert Carapola

Robert Carapola
Robert Anthony Carapola, born on August 5, 1954 in Bronx, NY, to the late Lucy Carapola and the late Arthur Carapola, passed away in the comfort of his home at age 63 on June 25, 2018. He was the loving husband of Patricia Carapola. Bob is also survived by his daughters, Vanessa Hayes and Stephanie Jones; his brother, Art Carapola; sons-in-law Chris Hayes and Adam Jones; grandchildren, Noa Hayes, Xavier Hayes, and Sawyer Jones; and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Bob graduated from St. Helena's High School in 1972. He worked for more than 30 years for the A&P Grocery and also at IBM in East Fishkill. He raised his daughters in Beacon, NY and lived there for nearly 20 years. He was an active parishioner and prayer group member at St. Benedict's Church in the Bronx for many years.

Bob was an extremely giving, gentle, protective and strong man. He loved art, history, nature, a good steak, lots of laughs and most of all, spending time with his family. Through his last days he stressed to his daughters that family is the most important thing in life. He was adored by his grandchildren and loved by all who knew him. His strength and courage was an inspiration in his final years and his family takes solace in knowing that he continues to watch over them.

Friends and family can pay their respects at the wake on Thursday, June 28 from 2-9 pm at Sisto Funeral Home, 3489 East Tremont Ave., Bronx. A funeral service will take place on Friday, June 29 at 10:30 am at St. Benedict's Church, 2969 Otis Ave., Bronx.
