About Us

The Sisto Funeral Home Inc., was founded in 1965 by John J. Sisto. The funeral home had its origins in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx in 1925. John J. Sisto operated the company until his death in 1997. The funeral home is now under the direct supervision of his son John J. Sisto and his nephew Frank J. Cieri.

Frank J. Cieri attended Hunter College (CUNY) and then later graduated from the American Academy McAllister Institute in 1970. Frank is currently the president of the Metropolitan Funeral Directors Association. He has been working in the family funeral business since the age of 10, where he worked with his uncle starting with little jobs and later rising to the position of managing the day to day operations to assist his uncle.


John Sisto attended the University of Florida, and also later graduated from the American Academy McAllister Institute in 1999. John is involved with the day to day operation of the funeral home as well as being involved with community affairs. He is especially involved with the Van Nest Little League team sponsoring the Sisto Funeral Home Team.

Sisto Funeral Home Inc., is a member of the MFDA, the NYSFDA and the Pre-Plan of NY.
